Spring has sprung here at Meeson Hall. Our gardener, Joe, is doing a great job keeping the grounds looking stunning as everything springs back to life. It really is ‘pretty as a picture’ – perfect for a stroll after breakfast!
Ironbridge Gorge Walking Festival 4th May – 12th May 2019
Perfect for seasoned walkers and beginners too – this nine-day event offers a range of different walks over different distances. There are wildlife walks, walks to music and wellness walks to name just a few. Take in views and sights from the stunning Ironbridge Gorge and beautiful Shropshire countryside. A Night at the Theatre
The county town of Shrewsbury is only 14 miles from us, and their impressive theatre plays host to a number of different shows and acts. Team it with a meal out at one of the many bars and restaurants Shrewsbury has to offer and you’ll be guaranteed a great night out! Shows on at Theatre Severn during May include:
Musicals – if musicals are your thing, then you could go for either Chitty Chitty Bang Bang 2nd to 4th May, or Footloose which is on 24th to 25th May.
Dancing – with something for everyone interested in dance, you have the choice of Burn the Floor starring the Strictly Come Dancing Star Kevin Clifton 12th May. Or how about ballet?? Birmingham Royal Ballet Company perform their enchanting Peter and the Wolf adaptation 17th to 18th May.
Drama – following on from the popular book and film, The Girl on the Train is being performed on stage 27th May to 1st June – a must if you like suspense and drama!
Shropshire County Show 25th May – Shrewsbury
The Shropshire County Agricultural Show has been around since 1875. It’s a great showcase for the latest innovations in agriculture, and well as being a great family day out!
Highlights of the show include falconry displays, FMX motorcycle team display, Wirral Pipe Band, and Sheep dog displays. There are also a huge range of stalls to browse, selling a range of goods from food and drink, to clothes and art!
